U.S., S. Korea defense chiefs agree on need for ‘firm responses’ after launch -Pentagon -Breaking

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and South Korean counterpart were in agreement that firm reactions, including at United Nations, are necessary following North Korea’s test of an intercontinental ballistic missile. This was according to the Pentagon on Thursday.

According to the Pentagon’s statement, “The leaders committed to continuing close consultations among military authorities of ROK and U.S. going ahead and agreed on how important it is for maintaining a strong U.S.–ROK combined defense position.”

The Pentagon reported that Austin spoke to his Japanese counterpart following the launch.
