Asian Stocks Up, Investors look to Ukraine-Russia Talks -Breaking

Investing.com – Asia Pacific stocks were up on Tuesday morning, with investor sentiment climbing thanks to a rally in U.S. equities, falling oil prices, and more cease-fire talks between Russia and Ukraine that will start later in the day.
Japan’s gained 0.59% by 10:31 PM ET (2:31 AM GMT), with the ratio at 1.21 in February and the at 2.7%.
South Korea’s was up 0.31%. The Australian dollar rose to 0.79%, after rising 1.8% month on month. Treasurer Josh Frydenberg will present the annual budget of the country later today.
Hong Kong’s was up 0.32%.
China’s inched up 0.08% and the rose 0.84%.
U.S. stocks fell, but tech firms assisted the rally to regain strength for a third consecutive day. The latest China lockdowns to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on fuel consumption caused oil’s fall. The U.S. Treasuries showed mixed results, with the yield on the 2-year Treasury resuming an upward trend based on the expectation that the Federal Reserve would aggressively raise interest rates.
The dollar gave up some gains, and the Japanese yen was near a six-year low against the U.S. currency due to the disparity in their central banks’ monetary policies. The Fed continues to be hawkish, but the Bank of Japan will continue to speak with a more cautious tone. They also plan to keep an unprecedented amount of bond-market intervention.
Fed policymakers including Patrick Harker from Philadelphia, Thomas Barkin of Richmond Fed and John Williams from New York Fed will talk on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, respectively.
The U.S. will publish its GDP Wednesday, and then the most recent jobs report on Tuesday. China will release both its non-manufacturing and manufacturing purchasing manager indexes (PMIs), on Thursday. The Caixin manufacturing PMI will follow a day later.
The global share price has risen by around 8% since the Russian invasion in Ukraine, Feb. 24, compared to the bond market crash and inverted yield curves. The invasion and sharing commodities prices are all being considered by investors.
“A lot of negative news is already reflected in market pricing and investor positioning, and we still see upside in U.S. equities for the rest of 2022,” UBS Global Wealth Management Americas chief investment officer Solita Marcelli said in a note.
Ukraine said that its “minimum” goal from talks with Russia that will begin on Tuesday in Turkey is an improvement in the immediate humanitarian situation.
Bitcoin traded for $47,000 in cryptocurrencies after it turned positive for 2022, which suggests a higher appetite for speculative investment. Stocks GameStop Corp (NYSE): They rose Monday morning for their 10th session. This is their longest winning streak, dating back to April 2010.
