Chris Rock received an apology from Will Smith after the Academy Awards ceremony. He said, “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong.” He also added that jokes are a part of a comedian’s job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was unbearable and that is why he reacted emotionally toward it.

The viral video of Will Smith’s slap is now ubiquitous. Many were surprised as Will Smith is a calm and kind person. Chris seemed a bit shocked after his slap but told the audience it was one of the most memorable nights in TV history.
