World of Women Galaxy NFT collection earns $79M per hour

Over the weekend, World of Women released a new Galaxy collection and it didn’t take long to sell out.

Within 24 hours of launching, the collection of 22222 female avatars earned $79 million. These include $34 million in primary market sales and $45 millions in secondary market sales.

WoW Foundation will get a share of World of Women Galaxy’s primary and secondary profits. This money is used to promote the possibilities of women in growing Web3 space and metaverse.

The series was launched in 2009 and has been the most traded NFT collection, with secondary sales of $64 million. This surpasses other PFP collections such as Azuki, Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club according to CryptoSlamdata.

Original World of Women Collection features 10,000 profile photos, all with different characteristics.

Original holders of the collectibles are allowed to claim one NFT for free, whereas 2,222 NFTs were made available at a discounted rate for the allowlist “to welcome other communities and supporters to the WoW fam.”

Last 10,000 Galaxy NFTs were sold to the general public via Dutch auction. They started at 3ETH (approximately 9,300) and slowly dipped until they ran out.

Since the start of this year, the World of Women NFT collection is on an uptrend. Many celebrities and brands are clamoring for one. KPMG Canada spent $70,000 last month on a piece of the collection. Meanwhile, Women’s World announced that actress Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production studio would develop TV shows and films based on the NFT project, while Jazzware invested in a toy production license for the project.
