Amazon hired pro-Democrat consultant to fight Staten Island union vote

AmazonCNBC reports that the company engaged an influential consultancy and polling firm connected to Democratic political parties to aid it defeat a serious unionization effort in a Staten Island Warehouse.
Global Strategy Group served as a polling companion for a pro Biden super PAC before the 2020 election. According to documents viewed and analyzed by CNBC, they have been working with Amazon to produce anti union materials since late last year.
JFK8 fulfillment center employees began casting their ballots Friday. Wednesday was the close of the vote to unionize, with the National Labor Relations Board currently counting votes.
Amazon has been aggressive in its efforts to stop Staten Island unionization efforts, as it did on Staten Island. Some materials boast the numerous benefits Amazon provides such as health care, vacations, and the opportunity to improve job skills.
According to documents, GSG employees were present in New York, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., as well as Washington, D.C. Barbara RussellGSG’s Global Director of Employee Relations at Amazon is assisting with the oversight.
Amazon is expressing concern over the Union vote by partnering with such a well-respected consulting company. GSG began as a polling and research firm in 1995. Since then, it has grown to offer consulting, public relations, or other services. GSG has built a strong client base that includes corporate and political leaders. including Google Facebook.

GSG might have to worry about working for Amazon in anti-union capacities due to the Democratic Party’s close association with it. The Democratic Party has always been an advocate for unions.
