Following the pivot towards the metaverse by Meta Platforms, many artificial intelligence (AI), researchers left the company.

CNBC has reported that at most four Meta AI experts have left the company. This includes scientists who published numerous scientific studies and had multiple breakthroughs at Meta.

Karl Hermann is the CEO of Saiga, a former DeepMind staff researcher scientist and senior staff member. He said that Meta may have lost half its members after some scientists had left their AI laboratory in London.

Meta’s London offices just collided, and the majority of their assets were lost. [top]CNBC interviewed him about the six-week period that researchers took to complete their research.

“Marks [Zuckerberg]They are all Meta now, and never properly invested in London,” Neil Lawrence, professor of Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge added that these departures were not surprising.

The report states that Edward Grefenstette (a scientist at Meta who headed the reinforcement learning division of the company) was one of the most prominent people who quit Meta’s AI group.

Heinrich Kuttler was a Meta research engineer manager. He recently joined Inflection AI founded by Mustafa Suleyman, a billionaire, and Inflection AI founder.

Douwe Kiela, a researcher scientist, and Ahmad Beirami (a research scientist) are two other departures. Beirami is now the same position at Google (NASDAQ :), and Kiela has been promoted to head of research for AI startup Hugging Face.

CNBC has reported that Meta AI staff have left the company or planned to quit in the coming weeks. CNBC also said there are no specific reasons for these departures.

The report stated that some people will jump to another lab because they believe it will help their careers or advance their research agenda.
