Solo was taken into custody in Winston-Salem’s Walmart (NYSE) parking lot. He was charged with impaired driving, resisting arrest, and child abuse.
According to the police, Solo was driving with her two children at the time. The department processed Solo and released her.
A spokesperson for the department stated that Solo was being held in contempt of court. Solo also received a mugshot.
The incident was addressed in a statement that Solo, 40, posted on Solo’s Twitter account (NYSE:). It was attributed to Rich Nichols her counsel.
According to the statement, Hope stated that Hope cannot speak out about the situation on the advice of counsel. However, she wanted everyone to understand that her children are her life and she was freed immediately to be at home with them. She also said that the story was more sympathetic to the charges than she had initially thought and she is looking forward to the opportunity to defend those charges.”
Solo is widely considered to be one of the best female goalkeepers ever. She helped America win two Olympic gold medals as well as a World Cup.
