© Reuters. Stocks in the United States are lower after close of trade. Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 0.422%Investing.com – U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
The index dropped 0.97% at closing in NYSE and lost 0.42%.
UnitedHealth Group Incorporated, which gained 2.70% (13.99 points) to close at 531.75. Meanwhile, Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:) added 2.60% or 4.62 points to end at 182.23 and Walmart Inc (NYSE:) was up 2.32% or 3.52 points to 154.99 in late trade.
Salesforce.com Inc. (NYSE:) fell 4.44%, or 9.32 point to trade at 200.82 by the closing. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ 🙂 fell 3.66%, or 11.38 point to trade at 299.50. Visa Inc Class A (NYSE -) fell 3.13% to 219.01, or 7.08 point.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:) which rose 4.56% to 305.84, NRG Energy Inc (NYSE:), which rose 4.23% to settle in 39.21, and Dollar General Corporation(NYSE:), which gained 4.20% until it closed at 239.00.
They were among the most disappointing. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NYSE:) was trading at 6.80%-to-20.68 late in the day. Penn National Gaming Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 6.72% to 39.02, and Caesars Entertainment Corporation [NASDAQ:], which dropped 6.67% at 72.01 by the end.
Advent Technologies Holdings Inc, which saw a 79.70% increase to 3.63 on the NASDAQ Composite was the top performer. Moxian Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 39.76%, to settle at 2.32. Mobiquity Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:), which gained 29.63%, to close at 2.10.
They were among the most disappointing. Guardforce AI Co Ltd (NASDAQ) was trading at a 32.54%-to-1.14 ratio in late trade. GWG Holdings Inc (NASDAQ :), that lost 25.14% and settled at 2.62. Integrated Media Technology Ltd, (NASDAQ 🙂 was down 21.44% to 20,52 at the closing.
On the New York Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 2268, 939, and 106 ending unchanged.
Eli Lilly and Company’s shares rose to record highs. They gained 4.56%, or 13.35 to 305.84. Penn National Gaming Inc. (NASDAQ:), shares dropped to their 52 week lows, falling by 6.2% (2.81 to 39.02). Dollar General Corporation’s shares rose to record highs with a gain of 4.20%, or 9.64 to 239.00. UnitedHealth Group Incorporated’s (NYSE:), shares rose by 2.70%, or 13.99 to 531.75. Shares in Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:) rose to all time highs; rising 2.60% or 4.62 to 182.23. Walmart Inc. (NYSE:), shares rose to new highs, up by 2.32% (3.52 to 154.99). GWG Holdings Inc shares (NASDAQ:), fell 25.14% to their lowest level; 0.88 to 2.62

For June delivery, Gold Futures fell 0.12% to $1.925.10 per troy an ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell 4.9% or 4.99 to $96.97/barrel, and June Brent oil, which fell 4.57% (or 4.87) to $101.77/barrel.
EUR/USD was steady at 1.09, while USD/JPY increased 0.14% to 123.278.
At 99.65, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.22%.
