On Thursday, the rouble strengthened sharply in Moscow’s trade to levels not seen since Russia sent thousands of troops to Ukraine.
According to the ministry, the appreciation of the rouble will “impact oil and gas revenues… however it is too early to make any particular assessment at the moment,” Reuters asked for comment.
