Investing.com – Stocks are ending Thursday on a positive note after investors soaked in the Federal Reserves signals about how it plans to tighten monetary policy.

Now, however, the market has entered a relatively quiet period. People are heading out on spring break vacations. Earnings from large corporations will be released later in this month.

After being mixed to lower earlier in the session, dip-buying investors seemed to have pushed indexes higher Thursday. At its next policy session in May, the Fed will begin to reduce its bond purchases.

Analysts expect the first quarter to be positive for tech companies. However, higher yields on bonds could dampen investor confidence.

Also taking space on the calendar is next month’s annual meeting of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway B (NYSE : ), is back in person for the second time in two-years. Buffett’s longtime lieutenant Charlie Munger is a regular at the event, which typically includes entertainment, shopping, as well as folksy investment advice.

Buffett is making waves recently, revealing a 11% stake at HP Inc (NYSE 🙂 late Wednesday. This comes after he purchased the insurance company Alleghany Corporation for $11.6 million. Maybe it is finally elephant hunting season for Oracle (NYSE 🙂 of Omaha.

Three things could impact the markets in tomorrow’s future:

1. Wholesale inventories

U.S. monthly-over-month data is expected to be available Friday at 10:00 ET. Analysts forecast that wholesale inventories will rise to 2.1%. This is higher than the previous 0.8%.

2. The signs of life

Friday will see the U.S. Count report, which is an indicator of consumer demand for oil products. According to data from Investing.com, the last count saw 531 people.

3. Congress in recess

After confirming President Joe Biden’s pick for the Supreme Court, Ketanji Brown Jackson, to become the first Black woman jurist on the high court, lawmakers on Capitol Hill are leaving for recess with some business hanging. That includes the confirmation votes for Biden’s Fed nominees, including Chair Jerome Powell’s second term, and more funds for his Covid preparedness plans, which were stuck in the Senate as of midday Thursday.
