U.S. Senate approves Biden pick for Pentagon’s chief weapons buyer -Breaking

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The U.S. Senate confirmed Thursday President Joe Biden’s selection to become the Pentagon’s chief weapon buyer. He is a former defense acquisition official in the Obama administration.

Bill LaPlante was the former head of Charles Stark Draper Laboratories Inc. He was appointed by voice vote the next Undersecretary of Acquisition and Sustainment at the Department of Defense.
