Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The added 0.3% was at Tokyo’s close.

(T:), an additional 4.11% or 42.00 point to bring the total up to 1,064.00 Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp T: was at 3,760.00, up 4.04% (or 146.00 points) in late trade.

They were also the session’s worst performers Nippon Express Co. Ltd. (T:), fell 5.79%, or 450.00 point to trade at 7,320.00 close. Mitsubishi Corp. T: fell 3.61%, or 156.00 point to finish at 4,168.00 Marubeni Corp. (T:), was at 1,339.00, down 3.46%.

By 1849-1659, rising stocks outnumbered those on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. 230 was unchanged.

The shares of Nikon Corp. (T) reached 52-week highs, rising by 7.55%, or 96.00 to 1,368.00. Shares in Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp (T:) rose to 3-years highs; rising 4.04% or 146.00 to 3,760.00.

The implied volatility index of Nikkei’s 225 options was 8.71% higher than 19.97.

The price of crude oil in May delivery rose 0.49 percent or 0.47 to $96.50 per barrel. Brent oil rose 0.30 or 0.30% to $100.88 per barrel in commodities trading. The June Gold Futures contract dropped 0.42%, or 8.20, to $1,929.60 an ounce.

USD/JPY rose 0.13%, to 124.07; EUR/JPY declined 0.11% to 134.65.
