Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

NSE ended with the index rising 0.82% and the NSE closing up with a gain of 0.70%.

These were the best performers of the session Grasim Industries Ltd (NS): traded at 1,771.25 after the close, up 5.31%, or 89.30 point. Meanwhile, SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS) gained 4.65%, or 51.60 point to reach 1,160.45 ITC In late trade, Ltd (NSS:) was up by 4.34% (11.5 points), to 267.80

These were the worst performers of the session. Cipla Ltd. (NS): Traded at 1,011.60 by the close, down 2.42%. Tech Mahindra LTD (NS) dropped 1.20% or 17.55 point to finish at 1,451.00 Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS.:) dropped 1.08% to 7,557.95, or 82.55 Points.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were ITC Ltd (BO:) which rose 4.36% to 267.80, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which was up 2.70% to settle at 857.10 and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:) which gained 2.67% to close at 4,432.00.

Tech Mahindra Ltd. (BO) was the worst performer, falling 1.31% at 1,449.75 in late trading. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. was also down 1.04% at 7,557.70. NTPC Ltd. was at 152.00 after closing.

On the India National Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered those in decline by 1266 to 553, and 34 ended unchanged.

ITC Ltd. shares (NS) reached 52-week highs. The stock gained 4.34% or 11.15 % to 267.80. ITC Ltd’s shares rose to 52 week highs, rising by 4.36% (or 11.20 to 267.50).

The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was at 17.69, a record low for the 1-month.

The June delivery of Gold Futures was lower by 0.23%, or 4.40, to $1.933.40 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil for May delivery rose 0.53 percent to $96.56 per barrel. The June Brent oil contract traded at $100.87 per barrel.

USD/INR declined 0.05% from 75.87 to 75.87 and EUR/INR gained 0.04% from 82.58 to 82.58.

At 99.78, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.02%.
