WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), announced Friday that it will appoint a head for its aviation certification service. This is in line with significant reforms Congress made in December 2020.

Effective May 8, Lirio Liu, the FAA’s new executive director for its Aircraft Certification Service will replace Earl Lawrence. Earl Lawrence is currently moving on to a new position at the FAA.

This move follows the resignation of Steve Dickson, FAA Administrator.
