DAO Regulation in Australia: Part 2: Problems and Solutions

Australia’s lawmakers want decentralized autonomous organisations (DAO) to be regulated. Oleksii Konashevych, a three-parter series author discusses possible solutions and the dangers of stifling DAOs’s growth.

Registering as a business is the first step in regulating a decentralized, autonomous organization (DAO). However, who can remember why this registry is necessary? Do you think a blockchain-based DAO registration is necessary?

Oleksii KonashevychHas a Ph.D. from the University of Queensland in Law, Science and Technology and is now the CEO at the Australian Institute for Digital Transformation. He presented an idea for a new type of property registry that is based on blockchain technology in his academic research. The idea of title tokens was presented by him and was supported with technical protocols and digital authorities for smart laws. These will allow full-featured legal management of digitized property right rights. A cross-chain protocol allowing multiple ledgers to be used for a blockchain estate register was also created by him. He presented it to the Australian Senate 2021.
