(Reuters] – Orlando was the Walt’s home and cracked the list of 10 world’s busiest airports last year. Disney (NYSE:) Universal Studios and World Theme Parks in Florida joined the majority of American hubs, as soaring leisure travel supports a rebound in traffic.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport was the top-ranked airport in passenger traffic, according to Airports Council International (ACI). This ranking is based upon a preliminary compilation 2021 global data.

This report also ranks airports based on cargo volumes and flight movements.

The United States is experiencing the strongest and fastest recovery in travel. This has been fueled by vacation trips to places like Florida. However, 2019 traffic remains low.

FlightAware data shows that U.S. commercial flight traffic was down nearly 18% in March between 2019 and 2020. However, worldwide traffic fell nearly 27%.

ACI reported that Florida’s Orlando International Airport ranked seventh with 40.4 million passengers in 2021. They were just ahead of China’s Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and broke into the top 10, for the first time since 1991.

China is still an aviation giant, but its international borders will remain closed for 2021. The country’s zero COVID policy, which resulted in a number of small outbreaks by international standards and strict travel control that dampened demand for domestic traffic, led to a decline in domestic traffic.

The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority spokeswoman said that the airport anticipates more traffic in 2022, as business and international travel returns in higher numbers.

The rankings “tell the story of an encouraging trend of recovery, with most of the recurrent busiest airports pre-COVID-19 back at the top,” ACI World Director General Luis Felipe de Oliveira said in a statement.

ACI stated that traffic to the 10 most crowded airports by 2021 was about 463,000,000 passengers. This is almost 10% global traffic.
