Mastercard, the payment giant in America (NYSE:), has submitted 15 trademark applications for metaverse and nonfungible tokens (NFT) with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The filings highlight plans to create a virtual community that interacts with digital assets and the Metaverse’s payment card processing system. This online marketplace allows buyers and sellers to download digital goods and hosts virtual reality events.
