Epic Games and Fortnite founders raise $2B to help fund the metaverse plan by LEGO and SonyEpic Games, publisher of Fortnite for console and PC, is behind this video game. Annouced a $2 billion funding round with plans to accelerate the company’s vision to make its mark in the Metaverse. Epic’s equity valuation would increase to $31.5 Billion, but the deal is still subjected to standard regulatory approvals.
The round also includes an investment of $1 billion from an existing investor Sony (NYSE: ) Group Corporation; and KIRKBI, which is the holding company for the LEGO Group. Sony, which is the maker of PlayStation consoles also PlacedEpic to invest $200 Million in April 2021
