WASHINGTON (Reuters] – The U.S. administration of President Joe Biden will announce on Wednesday additional military support for Ukraine to fight Russian forces. This is according to two U.S. officials who are familiar with the situation.

This equipment will be paid for using Presidential Drawdown Authority (or PDA), which allows the president to authorize transfers of articles or services from U.S. stock without the approval of Congress in an emergency situation.

A spokesperson for the department said that final determinations about equipment mixture were being made.

Last week, the White House stated that Ukraine has received more than $1.7 Billion in security aid since Russia’s invasion on February 24.
