Ford Motor Company’s CEO Jim Farley tweeted today that “it is time” and announced the F-150 Lightning will “strike” at 1:30 PM ET on April 26th. Ford added to their website a countdown clock along with this announcement.

Ford announced last month that F-150 Lightning has the final EPA-estimated EPA-estimated’s battery range. A single truck charge can provide a range of between 230 and 320 miles depending on the trim level and battery package.

An event will be held at Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, Dearborn to celebrate the automaker’s launch. This is where the electric vehicle is made.

The price of the F-150 electric starts below $40,000, for the Work Truck version. This excludes destination fees. Base MSRP is $90.874 for Platinum models. These prices exclude federal incentives that are available to electric vehicle purchasers.

Ford won’t let you place your order if you don’t have pre-ordered. Ford stated previously that F-150 Lightning deliveries would start sometime in the spring. Ford also stopped taking deposits after receiving over 200,000 reservation requests for the truck.

American automaker Ford already took steps to ensure dealers don’t raise prices or sell them quickly to highest bidders. But supply is likely to be scarce. Ford has already begun to increase the Lightning’s annual production to 150,000 units annually, which it hopes to achieve by next year.
