UnitedHealth (NYSE 🙂 announced Thursday the results of its first quarter. It beat analyst predictions and generated revenue above expectations.

UnitedHealth posted earnings per share (EPS) of $5.49 on $80.1B in revenue. Investing.com polled analysts and predicted EPS at $5.36 for revenue $78.69B.

UnitedHealth shares have increased 6% since the start of the year. However, they are still down 2.18% from their 52-week high of $548.97 on April 8. They outperform the Dow Jones, which has fallen 4.88% since the beginning of the year.

UnitedHealth reports on major earnings from the Healthcare sector this month

UnitedHealth’s earnings report comes after BioNTech reported an earnings beat on March 30th, reporting EPS at $12.18 for revenue of $5.53B. This compares to the forecasts of EPS at $7.44 on revenue $3.92B.

Legend Bio exceeded expectations in March 18. The first quarter’s EPS was $-0.3 on $39M revenue, as compared with the $-0.3418 forecast on $14.27M revenue.
