Azuki will send $1M worth of NFTs into Space to NASA and SpaceXThis year, Azuki became one of the most popular NFT projects – the sixth top traded NFT collection, with each NFT currently worth around half a million dollars. The anime-like character community is keen on experimenting with Web 3.0 and announced that they’re sending Azuki #40 – Bobu the Bean Farmer – to the moon. Bobu will become the first NFT to be issued a space-based hardware wallet.
Bobu was an active part of Azuki’s core characters and has participated in many activities. It’s also “the first decentralized governance experiment in character IP management” (12,000 holders), and Azuki has launched a collection of 50,000 Bobu The Bean Farmer NFTs. Bobu will be bringing 2,000 tokens to the space within a ledger. The trip will last 31 days, and during the time, “Bobu will be exploring his interest in intergalactic sake-brewing & more.”
Azuki aims to fund student research organization ‘Stellar’ by embarking on this space trip:
“Stellar’s research will measure the energy output and electrical characteristics of a Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) run in a microgravity environment. NFTs will make history with this voyage and will also contribute to important humanitarian research,”
Bobu’s official website wrote.
Bobu will be launching into space with a SpaceX Crew-4 rocket, and the exact launch time will be announced by SpaceX on their Discord channel. YouTube will live stream the event.
@BobuBeanFarmer and @NASA will join @SpaceX for the Crew-4 mission toward the International Space Station. Bobu will be the first NFT to receive private keys via @Ledger. One small step forward for farmers. One giant leap for beans”.-Bobu3…2…1… pic.twitter.com/zPKmCoM0D4
