WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The remaining Ukrainian forces at Mariupol’s southern port are fighting on and will continue defying a Russian demand for their surrender, Denys Shmyhal, the Ukrainian Prime Minister said Sunday.

Shmyhal said that the “city still hasn’t fallen” in an interview with ABC’s “This Week”, adding that Ukrainian soldiers are continuing to hold some of the city’s areas.

Shmyhal stated that he would attend the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank meetings in Washington, and seek additional financial aid for Ukraine.
