On Monday, a federal judge revoked the mandate for national masks for public transport and planes. He argued that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention overstepped their authority.
This ruling is less than a week following a decision by the CDC to extend its mandate for another 15 days. The increase in Covid infection nationwide was caused by the contagious omicron BA.2 variant.
