WASHINGTON (Reuters] – A global slowdown could be a reason the Fed needs to “be cautious” when raising its interest rates, Raphael Bostic of Atlanta Fed stated Tuesday on CNBC.

“I don’t think it is easy to know for sure how strong the economy is going to continue to be as we move through the summer and into the fall,” said Bostic, who sees rates rising less this year than many of his colleagues. According to the International Monetary Fund, 3.6% of global growth was reduced to 2022 from 4.4%. This is a warning sign that we should be careful as we go forward.
