German producer prices at record high amid Ukraine war -Breaking

BERLIN, (Reuters) – German producer prices rose by 30% on March compared to the previous year, reflecting the impact of the conflict in Ukraine. Data from Wednesday’s Federal Statistics Office revealed this.

According to statistics offices, March marks six months in a row of steeper rises, mostly due to rising prices for energy.

According to the office, “These results must already include first implications deriving out of Russia’s attack against Ukraine.”

According to statistics, this was the largest jump in factory gate prices since 1949 when records were first started.

Reuters polled analysts and they expected an annual growth of 28.2%. The February average was 25.9% higher than the previous year.

Producer prices saw a 4.9% increase in price compared with the prior month.

According to statistics, energy prices rose by 83.8% between March 2021 and March 2021. That was due in large part to an increase of 144.8% in the cost of, the statistics office stated.

Excepting energy prices, producer price rose 14% annually.
