(Reuters) – A shareholder proposal calling for a review of Amazon.com Inc’s civil rights will be withdrawn by the New York Pension System (NASDAQ:), a pension official stated on Wednesday.

Amazon supported a similar proposal made by Thomas DiNapoli (New York State Comptroller), at its annual meeting last year. Last week, the company announced that it would examine the impacts of its employment policies.
