LONDON (Reuters – Thursday’s 96th birthday celebrations will include gun salutes, the release a Barbie doll, and a photo showing Britain’s longest-serving monarch with two white ponies in Windsor Castle.

Ministers from the government joined royal family members to send their warmest wishes and best wishes for the queen. She has been forced to resign from all public duties due in part, to health concerns. Sandringham in Norfolk will be her place of birth.

On Twitter, Prince William’s grandson and Kate shared the message “An Inspiration to So Many Across the UK, The Commonwealth, and the World, It’s Particularly Special to Be Celebrating in This Platinum Jubilee Year,” which was posted by the Queen’s granddaughter.

Elizabeth, who was visiting Kenya as part of an international tour, became the queen and protector of Britain on February 6, 1952.

Her husband, Prince Philip, died in December at the age of 99. He had been with her for more than seven decades.

As she rose to the throne Josef Stalin and Mao Zedong were leading the Soviet Union and China respectively. Winston Churchill was the British prime minister.

A gun salute will take place in London’s Hyde Park to mark the monarch’s birthday. Also, a photo of the queen standing between two white ponies and wearing a long dark-green coat will be released.

To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a Barbie doll was released in an ivory dress with a blue scarf.

The public has mostly avoided Queen Elizabeth’s October hospital stay for an unknown ailment. According to her, Queen Elizabeth was exhausted and tired after she had a positive COVID test in February.

She continues to meet online but has been unable to attend large events such as Remembrance Sunday and the Easter service.
