REUTERS/Sergei Karpukhin/File Photo(Reuters) – Russia could face an “orchestrated default” on its state debt because of Western sanctions, VTB Andrey Kostin, CEO of Russia’s second largest lender said in a TV interview.
Russia is on the verge of historic default and foreign investors have limited options for recovering their funds. They can either bet on expensive legal action or trust bilateral agreements to stand. Analysts say they are not in a position to make a profit.
