WASHINGTON (Reuters), – U.S. Treasury Secret Janet Yellen stated Friday that it would be worth taking steps to reduce U.S. duties on Chinese goods, given the “desirable effect” such a move might have on lowering U.S. inflation.

“We will do all that we can in order to reduce inflation,” Yellen stated to Bloomberg TV. She cited President Joe Biden’s steps to remove oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, and other moves to fix supply chain problems.

She said that cutting tariffs is also something she thought was worth considering. We are looking into it.
