TOKYO, Reuters – Japan’s Coast Guard was on the north island of Hokkaido searching for missing tourists after a boat carrying 26 passengers went missing Saturday. Public broadcaster NHK reported.

NHK reported that authorities lost touch with the ship following word received from crew members that water was rushing into the vessel’s stern on Saturday afternoon. NHK reported that 24 people were aboard, two of them children and two crew members.
