BERLIN (Reuters), The Handelsblatt newspaper reports that Traton, a German manufacturer of commercial vehicles, will resume production Monday following supply shortages caused by the conflict in Ukraine.

Mid-March saw Volkswagen’s (ETR) subsidiary reduce the working hours for as many as 11,000 German workers and produce halt at its trucks plants in Munich, Krakow.

Russia’s invasion in Ukraine caused a shortage wire harnesses. These bundles can hold up to 5km (3.1 miles) of cable and are specific to each car. This has caused a crisis within the automotive industry.

Handelsblatt reports that the availability of harnesses has increased and a part of the workforce can now slowly return to work.

Handelsblatt reported that supplies will be limited at the moment. Vlaskamp told the German Press Agency (dpa) that most of the workforce would continue to work part-time in the second quarter.
