Portal, a Bitcoin-based Layer-2 DEX built on cross-chain blockchains, announced today that it has teamed up with HighCircleX, a blockchain-based asset market. The partnership aims to tokenize shares in preIPO companies like SpaceX, Klarna Automation Anywhere Cross River Bank and Epic Games using the Bitcoin blockchain.

Additionally, tokenizing equity in private pre-IPO companies and increasing its utility will help to increase liquidity for illiquid assets. Portal is adding layers to it, which will allow both.

A partnership between the Portal and a wallet will enable registered Portal users easier access tokenized securities. This will increase the available HighCircleX investor base.

The Executive Chairman of Portal Dr. Chandra Duggirala comments on this renowned collaboration and says that Portal has real-world uses cases for Bitcoin. Additionally, he states that:

In the future, we’ll see tokenization for many other financial assets via Bitcoin Blockchain. While these assets don’t bearer Bitcoin assets, the first step towards merging Bitcoin and mainstream finance is to make both security digital assets as well as non-security digital assets accessible through a single interface that allows users who meet investor accreditation criteria. Also, this solves the liquidity problem that can arise from fragmentation of liquidity across different platforms and applications.

Hemanth Golla is HighCircleX’s CEO and explains why HCX allows investors to make investments in private equity. Golla also said, “It gives members instant access to fractional ownership of stocks in the hottest companies. We believe that tokenization and fast, easy tradability that come with it will unlock and expand this market tremendously.”
