MEXICO CITY (Reuters). Mexican President Andres Manual Lopez Obrador urged Latinos to avoid voting in November’s Midterm Elections for Politicians who “mistreated” him, as a response to a tweet by Donald Trump.

Trump told a crowd in Ohio that Lopez Obrador, his predecessor in office had ordered Lopez Obrador 28,000 soldiers to be deployed along the U.S. Mexico border in order to prevent migrants. This was after threats to place tariffs against Mexican goods.

Lopez Obrador, when asked about Trump’s remarks, said that no U.S. party “use Mexico like a pinata”, and that all those who have the right to vote must exercise it with care.

His message to Americans of Mexican descent and Latino heritage was that “if Mexico is being mistreated or any country in Latin America or the Caribbean, don’t vote for these parties or for those candidates regardless of whether they are part the Democratic or Republican party.”

Lopez Obrador said, “If someone does something that isn’t right we will call them out to help our countrymen.” Lopez Obrador stated that 40 million of us are involved in the news conference. Don’t forget about your heritage.

A Pew Research Centre report revealed that the United States had 36.6 million Mexicans in 2017. This was before the 2017 presidential election.

Trump was a rogue in 2016, calling Mexican migrants rapists, and drug runners. Lopez Obrador (then in opposition) compared Trump’s attitude towards migrants to Nazi Germany’s treatment of Jews.

Lopez Obrador, the president of Mexico, spoke highly about Trump and stated Monday that he liked Trump “even though he’s a capitalist”, and that Trump’s presidency had been good for both nations.

Trump made a mockery of Marcelo Ebrard as Foreign Minister. He is one of the favourites to succeed Lopez Obrador 2024.

Ebrard posted on Twitter (NYSE 🙂 that Trump made remarks about “What happened yesterday”. “In this government we are patriots. There is nothing to be ashamed.
