© Reuters India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 1.46%Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
NSE close: The index gained 1.36 percent, and the NSE gained 1.37%.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. were the top performers during the session. They rose 5.81%, or 49.95 points, to trade at 909.50 by the end. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto Ltd (NSA:) added 5.8% or 209.15 to get at 3,892.10 Hero MotoCorp Late trade saw Ltd (NS) rise 5.18%, or 118.65 point to 2,407.25
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (NS:) were the worst-performing session, falling 1.59% or 2.70 point to close at 166.95. Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd., NS: declined 1.11% (52.00 points) to finish at 4,624.05. AXIS Bank Ltd. (NS 🙂 fell 0.73% (or 5.70 points) to reach 775.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:) which rose 3.93% to 231.65, Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which was up 3.92% to settle at 2,550.00 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which gained 3.85% to close at 938.00.
AXIS Bank Ltd.(BO:), which fell 0.7% to 775.20 in the late trade, Asian Paints Ltd. [BO:] which dropped 0.15% at 3,125.40, and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (“BO:”) which declined 0.12% to 7,901.30 by the close.
On the India National Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered those in decline by 1114 to 719, and 39 was unchanged. The Bombay Stock Exchange saw 1861 rise and 1415 fall, and 102 was unchanged.
Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS) share prices rose to their highest levels, increasing 5.81%, or 49.95 to 900.50.
The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was 9.74% lower at 19.19.
For June delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.52% to $1.905.80 an ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell by 0.01 or 0.01% to reach $98.53/barrel, and the July Brent Oil contract, which rose 0.27 or 0.28, to trade at $102.44/barrel.
USD/INR rose 0.03%, to 76.57. EUR/INR declined 0.39%, to 81.85.
US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.1% at 101.88.
