Warning: Security professionals warn of STEPN impersonators who steal users’ seed phrases

Peckshield, a well-known blockchain security company, revealed the existence of phishing sites for the Web3 lifestyle application STEPN. According to Peckshield, hackers insert a forged MetaMask plugin into their browsers in order to steal seed phrases from unwitting STEPN users.

Cybercriminals gain control over the STEPN dashboard of the user. From there they can connect to the victim’s stolen wallets and “claim” a prize as per Peckshield.
