(Reuters) – Toymaker Mattel Inc (NASDAQ:) has been exploring a sale. A source close to the situation told Reuters that talks have taken place with several buyout companies, including Apollo Global Management (NYSE.) Inc. and L Catterton.

Talks about a sale of Mattel came a few months following statements by Ynon Kreiz (the chief executive officer) that Mattel was now in “growth mode” and had finished its turnaround plan.

Mattel’s fourth quarter results were released in February. They forecast full-year profits that are higher than analysts’ expectations. Mattel cited strong demand for Barbie dolls, and other toys, which would allow the company to weather supply disruptions.

L Catterton did not respond to requests for comment. Mattel and Apollo Global Management didn’t immediately reply to our requests for comment.

Mattel was granted the rights in January to make dolls inspired by Disney princesses like Elsa or Jasmine. This license is highly profitable for Mattel. Hasbro Inc (NASDAQ:).

The Wall Street Journal reported https://on.wsj.com/3Ko2h2a on the potential sale of the toymaker earlier on Tuesday.
