YGG SEA Receives $15M in Funding for P2E Gaming Development in Southeast Asia- YGG SEA has two private sales that brought in $15 million.
- Proceeds will go towards boosting P2E gaming at SEA.
- The initial private sale was led by Infinity Ventures Crypto and YGG.
Yield Guild Games Southeast Asia, subDAO for the Philippines-based gaming company YGG has raised $15 million through two seed rounds. This secured funding will be used to promote play-to-earn games primarily in Southeast Asian regions.
Furthermore, Yield Guild Games aims to bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3 through GameFi – aside from onboarding players as scholars. SubDAOs like YGG SEA are the core of YGG’s expansion strategy and the key to the community development of the entire ecosystem.
Infinity Ventures Crypto, (YGG), led the first private sale. During the following seed round, notable names like Crypto.com Capital (YGG), Animoca Brands and Poloniex were in attendance.
Robby Yung (CEO of Animoca Brands) shared his belief that Animoca Brands is an investor in YGG and supports the entire YGG SEA staff, its business model, regional focus, and its investment strategy. He further said, “We believe YGG SEA will strongly contribute to onboarding players to blockchain across South East Asia.”
Additionally, Crypto.com Capital Manager Bobby Bao showed support for the project.
Crypto.com Capital is pleased to support the launch of YGG’s first-ever subDAO — YGG SEA — in its private funding round. We believe that Southeast Asia will continue to be the largest market globally for play-to-earn operators and that YGG SEA — with its operational expertise spanning from YGG and its in-country teams — will continue to hold the lion’s share of high-quality scholars in the region.
