Pinterest tops revenue expectations on ad spending boost -Breaking

The image-sharing platform benefited greatly from increased ad spend by businesses. This resulted in Pinterest’s shares rising 9% during extended trading.
According to data from Refinitiv IBES, revenue rose 18% to $575million in the first three month of this year, which is compared to the $572.5 million analyst expectations.
Pinterest (NYSE:) saw strong growth during the pandemic, when homebound people sought entertainment projects. This boom ended with economic recovery, and the company has increased its efforts in order to build its ad revenue.
Pinterest’s monthly active users decreased by 9%, to 433 million. This figure was also lower than the FactSet estimate at 437.9 millions.
Its mobile app MAUs (the group responsible for most of Pinterest’s revenue) grew in the middle-single digits.
The company stated that they also witnessed continued strength among the younger population, with Gen Z users increasing mid-single figures.
Pinterest expects second quarter revenue growth of 11%
The adjusted earnings were 10 cents per Share in the quarter. That’s more than Wall Street expected at 4 cents per Share.
