India launches antitrust raids on Amazon sellers Cloudtail, Appario -sources -Breaking

NEW DELHI (Reuters), – India’s antitrust agency launched raids on two Amazon.com Inc top sellers (NASDAQ:) for violating domestic competition laws. Two sources who have direct knowledge of the matter claimed that this was done to protect their customers.

According to Reuters sources, Wednesday’s raids were against Cloudtail and Appario. The details of the raids are not known.

Amazon has an indirect equity interest in the sellers but did not immediately respond to our request for comment.
