Ankr has been adding nodes to Ankr Protocol quickly, thanks in large part to our Node Provider Program that allows independent operators to service network traffic and earn ANKR Rewards.

Ankr intends to encourage Ankr Protocol users into becoming premium customers by offering Ankr grants. Ankr Protocol’s ongoing payment will be made using a pay as you go model. This replaces our annual plan.

Ankr Protocol, even with its pay-as–you-go pricing structure is much cheaper than similar offerings. It costs approximately $0.0001 USD per request.

Take, for example, SpiritSwap which uses Ankr Protocol and processed 8.59 billion requests using Ankr’s infrastructure over a 30-day period. Standard list pricing would have cost that amount of requests $1.68million per month for Infura and $268,000 each month for Alchemy. The cost of this volume would only be $86,000 with the APV2.

Not only does Ankr Protocol come with a much smaller price tag, but it’s important to note that users are paying for more decentralized, geo-distributed infrastructure that affords them more reliability, less latency, and improved security.

In Practice: Ankr

Ankr, as an infrastructure provider provides both node infrastructure and RPC access to clients wishing to connect to these blockchain networks.

Ankr’s node infrastructure grew 2000% by 2021, making it the largest infrastructure provider for Binance, Fantom and Polygon. Ankr became the third-largest provider of services for 13 other PoS networks.
