Has New York State gone astray in its pursuit of crypto fraud? -Breaking

New York State has gone off the rails in pursuit of cryptocurrency fraud.

Last week, the Empire State appeared twice on regulatory stages. Neither of these appearances was very reassuring.

The bill S8839 became effective April 25th. Proposed in the New York State (NYS) Senate that would criminalize “rug pulls” and other crypto frauds, while two days later, the state’s Assembly passed a ban on non-green (BTC) mining. Industry representatives were furious at the first event, and others had negative reactions to the second. However, this may have been more of a reflex response given that the “ban” was temporary and principally aimed at energy providers.
