MILAN (Reuters), – Carmaker Stellantis agreed to cut 480 workers at Mifariori in Turin this year through voluntary redundancies. This was according to the FIM-CISL union of Italy.

All major metal worker unions signed the deal, with the exception of the leftist FIOM CGIL.

Stellantis already had a similar agreement in February with unions over 700 voluntary redundancies. It means that there have been nearly 1,200 job reductions this year.

Davide Provenzano is the head of FIMCISL in Turin. He stated that although the final deadline to make voluntary redundancies was September 30, there was an additional incentive worth 20,000 euros ($21,000 for those who leave the company before Sept. 30).

Stellantis employs approximately 50,000 people in Italy. Stellantis spokespeople confirmed the deal and stated that they had no other comment. ($1 = 0.9524 euros)
