AMD reports on Tuesday, first quarter revenue surpassing analysts’ expectations and Investing.com reports that AMD beat forecasts

AMD reported earnings per share at $1.13 for revenue $5.89 billion. Investing.com polled analysts and predicted EPS at $0.91 for revenue $5.01B.

AMD shares fell 4.69% over the first year. This is still lower than its 52-week peak of $164.46, which was set November 30, 2021. They are outperforming the S&P 500 which is down 12.39% from the start of the year.

Following the news, AMD shares rose by 4.25% after-hours.

AMD and other Information Technology Sector earnings follow this month

AMD’s latest report is following an Apple earnings beat. Apple announced EPS figures of $1.52 per share on $97.28B in revenue, while forecasts called for $1.42 per share on revenues of $94.03B.

Microsoft beat all expectations with a third quarter earnings per share of $2.22 on $49.36B in revenue, as compared to the forecast of EPS at $2.19 for $49.02B.
