WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Consultant Jim Jordan, the highest Republican on the U.S. Home of Representatives Judiciary Committee, despatched a letter to the chair of the Federal Commerce Fee on Wednesday requesting that the company protect data associated to Elon Musk’s pending acquisition of Twitter Inc (NYSE:) .
The request signifies that Jordan might examine the FTC’s merger overview.
Jordan, specifically, expressed concern about statements by the Open Markets Institute, which he referred to as “an excessive left-wing political advocacy group,” and its name for the FTC to cease the deal.
