Japan PM Kishida arranging to join Shangri-La Dialogue security summit -Nikkei -Breaking

TOKYO (Reuters), – Fumio Kishhida, Japan’s Prime Minister is planning to attend the Shangri-La Dialogue Asian Security Summit in Singapore from June 10-12. This will foster understanding about Japan’s defense buildup.

Nikkei stated that Kishida would likely ask for more international cooperation from Western- and Asian defense officials following Russia’s invasion Ukraine and China’s assertiveness at sea.

According to the newspaper, Shinzo Abe’s first appearance at the security forum since 2014 would have been the Japanese premier.
