The Sydney close saw the stock market drop 0.98%, to a 1-month low.
Polynovo Ltd. (ASX) was the best performer of the session, rising 15.59% or 0.15 point to close at 1.08. Pendal Group Ltd. (ASX) gained 8.11%, 0.40 points, to close at 5.33. Iress Ltd. (ASX) increased 5.66%, or 0.60 points to 11.00 in late trade.
AUB Group Ltd. ASX: was among the worst-performing stocks of the session. It fell 9.90%, or 2.17 points, to trade at 19.73 by the closing. Alumina Ltd. (ASX) fell 4.30%, or 0.08 point to close at 1.67. Beach Energy Ltd. (ASX) dropped 3.88%, or 0.07 point to 1.61.
The Sydney Stock Exchange saw falling stocks surpass advancing stock by 1134 to 406 and ended the day unchanged at 347.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 10.32% to 21.41 a new 3-months high.
For June delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.16% to $1861.57 an ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which rose 0.38 percent to reach $103.47/barrel, while July Brent oil contracts rose 0.25 percent to trade at $106.19/barrel.
The AUD/USD exchange rate was stable at 0.70, while the AUD/JPY traded up 0.07% to 90.65.
At 103.65, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.04%.
