(Reuters) -Tesla’s Chief Executive Elon Muss said Tuesday that he would remove Twitter (NYSE 🙂 from President Donald Trump’s ban, as a speech at the Financial Times Future of the Car conference.

Musk has previously called himself an “absolutist in free speech” and recently signed a deal worth $44 billion to buy the social media platform.

Musk claimed that Trump was not muted by the decision to ban him from Twitter, but instead amplified the ex-president’s views among members of the political right. Musk described the ban as “morally wrong” and “outright stupid”.

Soon after the January 6th Riot on the U.S. Capitol in which Trump was arrested, Trump was immediately removed permanently from Twitter. Twitter said that it was concerned about “the risk to further incitement violence” when making its decision.
