Vietnam’s Vinfast IPO may be pushed back to 2023 on market uncertainty

HANOI, Reuters – Vingroup’s chairman said Wednesday that the initial public offering (IPO), for VinFast’s auto division, could be postponed until next year because of market uncertainties.

The IPO is scheduled for the fourth quarter this year. Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong told company’s annual meeting that the automaker was having difficulty obtaining parts from China.

VinFast, a holding company based in Singapore had applied for an IPO before the U.S. Securities regulators. The company is preparing to invest $4 billion to construct a US factory.
