Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

These were the best performers of the session Yokogawa Electric Corp. (TYO): The stock rose by 12.81%, or 257.00 points, to close at 2,264.00. Meanwhile, IHI Corp. (TYO) added 8.44%, or 241.00 point to reach 3,095.00 Nippon Yusen K.K (TYO): Trade was at a high of 5.39%, or 500.00 points, to 9,770.00 late trade.

They were also the worst performers of the session. Pacific Metals Co., Ltd. (TYO-), fell 21.88% to 700.00 points, closing at 2,500.00. Shizuoka Bank Ltd. (TYO) fell 6.56%, or 56.00 points, to close at 798.00 Resona Holdings, Inc. (TYO:), was at 515.90, down 5.50% and 30.00 points.

By 2002, falling stocks outnumbered advancing stocks on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The endings of 1483 and 241 were unchanged.

IHI Corp.’s shares rose to their highest level in three years; the company gained 8.44% (241.00 to 3,095.00).

The implied volatility index of Nikkei’s 225 options was lower by 2.14% at 29.71.

The June delivery of crude oil was up by 1.96%, or 1.96, to $101.72 per barrel. Brent oil, which was due for delivery July 1, rose 2.00%, or 2.05, to reach $104.51/barrel, while June Gold Futures contracts rose 0.32% (or 5.83), to trade at $1.846.83 per troy ounce.

USD/JPY declined 0.34% from 129.99 to USD/JPY, and EUR/JPY dropped 0.10% at 137.16.
